Health and Wellbeing - Introduction (Level 3)
Enrol NowIf you’re passionate about helping others in your community, this vocational Health programme will provide you with the practical skills and knowledge to prepare for your chosen career path as a support worker in the mental health, community health, addiction, or aged care sector.
During this course you will get to explore a range of career opportunities in the healthcare sector and learn how to provide appropriate healthcare and support across the wider community. We’ll teach you about the industry with guest speakers, visit a range of healthcare providers and help you gain your First Aid certificate during your studies.
You’ll then be able to discuss your chosen career path in either mental health and addiction, community health, nursing or aged care with your tutor and apply what you learn in class in a three week work experience at a healthcare provider.
This course is also part of the government led Youth Guarantee Programme. If you are aged 16-24, and meet the course entry requirements, you have a chance to attend this course for FREE!*

COURSE COSTS

Be a minimum of 17 years of age.
Have an acceptable New Zealand Police vet prior to the beginning of practical experience
English Language /International Applicants: General or Academic score of IELTS 5 with no band score lower than IELTS 5 OR equivalent under NZQA PAA Rule 18.
Domestic applicants with English as a second language: must demonstrate sufficiency in English language at interview.
