Aisha gains confidence to excel in hospitality

After facing uncertainty over what to do once high school was over, NZMA graduate, Aisha Abbott has found her feet at a global leader in hospitality and food service management.

Aisha graduated with a Level 3 Certificate in Hospitality, a practical course aimed at mastering the art of coffee making, food safety and event catering.

“I had some family members who had done some courses at NZMA, and I thought I would give it a try, and take a step closer towards a career,” shared Aisha.

After gaining valuable behind-the-scenes insight into the lively industry, the Careers and Employment Team at NZMA helped her get ahead.

“The team gave me more confidence in myself and encouraged me to apply myself for to a job. Sometimes that’s all you need to hear!”

Aisha secured a role as Front of House at the Delaware North Company, which operates a number of food services at a number of locations, such as Sky Stadium and Auckland Airport. 

“NZMA taught me many lessons, but the main one is that life isn’t just about finding yourself, it’s about creating yourself!”
