Mereana Panui - NZMA - Profile photo

Mereana Panui has been featured in The UP 100 – a compelling showcase of 100 remarkable students and graduates, as part of UP Education, achieving education and employment success across Australasia and beyond.

Mereana, Māori and Pacific Trades Training scholarship recipient, will soon complete her Level 3 Certificate in Carpentry Trade Skills with NZMA and pathway into her first apprenticeship.

When she first began, she was pleasantly surprised by the number of females in her class. Entering a male-dominated field, Mereana thought she would be treated differently – but at NZMA this wasn’t the case.

With the support of her tutors and classmates, Mereana isn’t just learning how to build cabins, she is acquiring plenty of soft skills. As team leader, she has already improved her capability to motivate and inspire others to become the best they can be. It’s no wonder why she was selected for The UP 100.
