This course is a mix of campus-based study and *self-directed learning (on-site hours vary from 20 hours per week and 16 hours of self-directed learning in your own time per week).

About meeting regulations and codes of practice.
Practical skills and theory application for water systems, sheet metal and roofing materials, sanitation, cold and hot water supply, soldering, welding and brazing.
Installation of pipes and fittings for water supply, gas and other heating.
Theory and principles of gas combustion to domestic installations.
Integrating plumbing and gasfitting services into a building structure.

MĀORI AND PASIFIKA TRADES TRAINING (MPTT)
If you’re Māori or Pasifika and aged 16-40, you might be able to get a scholarship to pay your course fees. This course is also part of the Māori and Pasifika Trades Training (MPTT) programme. You’ll also get one-on-one career coaching, help finding work, and other learner support. You can apply for the MPTT scholarship once you’ve enrolled in your course. Ask NZMA to help apply.

Applicants must have completed a Level 2 NZQF qualification or equivalent or meet the minimum requirements of the NZMA Level 3 Placement Test
Domestic applicants with English as a second language must demonstrate sufficiency in the English language at an interview.
