Our Police Preparation course will get you ready to meet the fitness requirements that form part of the New Zealand Police recruitment process.
Including the 2.4km run, press-ups, beep test, curl-ups, grip test, and the 50m swim.
You’ll train hard to meet the fitness requirements, including completing a Royal New Zealand Police College mock-test.

COURSE COSTS

Entry is open to domestic students only, on the basis of the following criteria:
Hold a NZQF level 2 qualification (or equivalent) or meet requirements of the NZMA Level 3 placement test
Be a competent swimmer (50 metres in approximately 55 secs)
Be physically fit*
*Be able to perform within 20% of the Police Entry requirements for the 2.4 km run, press-ups, grip test and 50m swim.

You can start with NZMA’s Pre-Police programme to prepare for the fitness requirements of the New Zealand Police College, including a mock-test.
After completion of any preparation training courses, becoming a police officer in NZ typically takes around 19 weeks of training at the Royal New Zealand Police College, followed by on-the-job probation.
