Enrol NowTake your passion for cooking to the next level, where you will build on the knowledge and techniques developed in the Certificate in Cookery (Level 4) and gain the expertise required for progression as a chef in the hospitality industry.
In this course you will develop advanced cookery skills as well as administrative and kitchen management skills from running a commercial kitchen to creating original menus. You’ll get to visit a New Zealand food supplier to see where some of the food or ingredients you work with comes from and you’ll have an opportunity to secure an internship where you’ll gain invaluable work experience.
All Cookery graduates from NZMA will have the opportunity to pathway with the International Management Institute (IMI) in Luzern, Switzerland, to complete an internationally recognized qualification from an institute that is ranked 12th in the world for hospitality training. Students will also have the opportunity to receive work experience through their excellent network of contacts in the industry, including the Ritz-Carlton, Marriot, Fairmont, Intercontinental, Four Seasons, and Disney – just to name a few.
This course is delivered by The Culinary Collective, New Zealand’s culinary school who are part of NZMA.

Academic Criteria
Aged 17 or over
NCEA Level 2 or equivalent or New Zealand Certificate in Cookery Level 4, New Zealand Certificate in Baking level 4 (Patisserie Strand) or equivalent OR
Industry experience
An interview may be required.
English Language
Domestic students with ESOL: must be proficient in English language.
International students: Academic or General IELTS score of 5.5 with no band score lower than 5.0, or equivalent NZQA Recognised International English Proficiency.
