Want to learn how to provide exceptional care for your beloved pets? Or perhaps you're wanting to turn your love for animals into a rewarding career?  

Through our engaging and interactive modules, you'll delve into the intricacies of animal care, learning how to provide essential support and assistance in diverse settings.  

From understanding animal behaviour and nutritional needs to mastering grooming techniques and ensuring their overall well-being, our course covers it all. You’ll have the freedom to choose and set up your own internship in an animal care workplace environment like a pet store, groomers, or vet clinic.  

Graduates will be able to work as assistants involved with the day-to-day care, and welfare of animals at pet shops, animal shelters, pet grooming, kennels and catteries, breeders, pet boarding or training facilities, animal laboratories, and more.  

By enrolling in our online course, you'll gain the flexibility to learn at your own pace, fitting your studies seamlessly into your busy life.  

Whether you're just starting your journey into study or looking to enhance your existing skills, our programme is designed to accommodate learners of all levels.  

You will learn:

  • Domestic applicants with English as second language may need to demonstrate sufficiency in English language.

  • As part of your qualification, you must complete 40 hours of work placement at an animal care business/facility. Learners must find their own work placement.

  • Learners are required to complete the NZMA Workplace Training Agreement prior to commencing work placement.

This programme is currently only offered to domestic students.

You must have access to a computer, a microphone, and a reliable internet connection.
