Graduates will be able to work as assistants involved with the day-to-day care, and welfare of animals at pet shops, animal shelters, pet grooming, kennels and catteries, breeders, pet boarding or training facilities, animal laboratories, and more.

Domestic applicants with English as second language may need to demonstrate sufficiency in English language.
As part of your qualification, you must complete 40 hours of work placement at an animal care business/facility. Learners must find their own work placement.
Learners are required to complete the NZMA Workplace Training Agreement prior to commencing work placement.
This programme is currently only offered to domestic students.
You must have access to a computer, a microphone, and a reliable internet connection.
